A new phone is, well, brand new! Never used by anyone before and the latest models are sure to be the most powerful, with all the latest features and functions. The downside is that all of this comes at a high price. So can you afford it and are you prepared to pay? Ask yourself if it's worth it.

A refurbished phone has been preowned, but as part of our refurbishment process, any parts that were faulty or not functioning correctly have been repaired or replaced, the phone has been thoroughly cleaned and all the previous user's data has been deleted. It's operating as good as new and you may find it difficult to see that it was ever preowned. You get a perfectly good working device at a fraction of the cost to buy it new. Reusing devices is also better for the environment.

When you purchase a TechStar refurbished smartphone, you will receive the handset only. Charging cables and wall/car chargers are available separately. Boxes, bundles, tempered glass and cases are also available for all models.

All our refurbished smartphones are sold in “as good as new”, "acceptable" or "good" condition, depending on the grade they've been awarded. You’ll struggle to see that they were ever preowned. Our technicians also make sure every device is in full 100% working order. So confident are we in the super condition of our refurbished phones, we provide each one with a free 14-day returns policy and all phones come with 12-month warranty.

We use a Grading method for our Refurbished Devices. All phones are thoroughly tested and fully-functional. Then each device is awarded a specification grade, based on it's overall condition.

Grades:

1) Good As New: A device considered to be in Excellent condition by technicians with only slight signs of use. No deep scratches are on-screen with minor/minimal scuffs limited to the casing.

2) Good: A device that you would expect to show signs of average usage but no cracks or missing parts and in excellent working order.

3) Acceptable: All the phone's features work. The phone has notable signs of wear, such as scratches, dents or other marks. The phone is thoroughly tested and fully functional.

TechStar technicians run comprehensive functionality checks on every refurbished phone before it's made available for sale. Every refurbished smartphone, depending on the grade, will have a minimum of 75% original battery capacity. Where any issues are detected, we simply replace the battery with a new one.

No, you can be 100% confident that all previous user data has been completely and permanently deleted from preowned phones as part of our refurbishment process.

Yes, with our 14-day Free Returns policy, refurbished phones can be returned for a guaranteed full refund provided they are sent back to us within 14 days from the purchase date and there is no accidental damage to the device. Please make sure to remove iCloud locks and Google locks before sending your phone back to us. Locked phones will not be refunded. Our advice is to perform a full factory reset of the phone to remove any data left on the device. Contact webteam@techstar.ie to arrange the return.

After 14 days from the day of purchase, defective smartphones can only be returned for warranty assessment and repair within the 12-month warranty period (excluding accidental damage). This 12-month warranty applies to all refurbished phones returned after the 14-day period too. If there is a problem, simply email or call us at any branch or contact Web Team directly at webteam@techstar.ie. Pack your device well to prevent potential damage in shipping and send the device to us (you can use An Post or any other courier available). Our qualified technician will assess the problem and will be in contact with you as soon as the diagnosis is made and the solution found.

Yes, we provide 12-months warranty as standard on all smartphones, tablets and Macbooks (new and refurbished).

Orders

Unfortunately, orders that have already been processed can no longer be cancelled and must be returned as a refund instead.

Refunds on credit card purchases typically take seven days.

Warranty

Our New & Refurbished Smartphones, Laptops and Tablets come with a 12-month warranty. All other products come with the manufacturer's warranty.

You do not have to pay the return postage if its within 14-days of purchase. If there is an issue after the 14-days, please contact us on webteam@techstar.ie.

Delivery

If you would like your goods to be delivered to a different address other than your billing address, please fill in all the information at check out. If you choose a different billing address to delivery address, we may require further information about your order. Please ensure you have attached all contact information. Should we need to call you for additional information, we will email you in advance. Please note, your billing address must match the address to which your card is registered, or the payment will be declined.

We offer FREE* shipping in Ireland. The delivery usually takes 1-2 working days. (Weekends and public holidays not included). *Shipping costs may be applied to a limited number of very large items - this will be made clear in the product description and at various stages of checkout.

Repairs

Yes, all repairs receive a 6-month warranty on the replaced parts.*Please note the warranty does not cover accidental or water damage. If your device is opened and tampered with by a third party, the warranty will be voided.

TechStar's experienced in-store technicians typically complete laptop repairs within 5 working days, depending on the issue. We also offer an Express Service.

Express Service means you get to skip the queue and have your laptop repair diagnosed within 1-2 working days.
